31-year-old Aidyn Yermuratov has been fighting for his life for the past five years. Both of his kidneys have stopped working, so he has dialysis three times a week. Each session lasts four hours. Right now, dialysis is the only thing keeping him alive. According to Aidyn, his health became much worse after he had COVID-19. Soon after that, both of his kidneys stopped working. Since then, his life has been divided between home and the hospital. After every dialysis session, he feels very weak, so he cannot work full-time. When he feels a little better, he takes small jobs to help support his family.
Aidyn and his wife, Zhansaya, are raising their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Sadly, Zhansaya also has health problems and has a Group 3 disability. Today, the family's only income is their disability benefits.
